On May 24, 2016, Unified Patents filed a petition for inter partes review (IPR) on claims 1, 2, 7, 27, 28, 29, 34, 54, 72, 73, 74, 92, 93 and 111 of U.S. Patent 8,542,815, a patent owned and asserted by VoIP-PAL.com, Inc., who has announced in a press release it is seeking over $7 billion in damages.
