On September 13, 2017, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) instituted trial on all challenged claims in an IPR filed by Unified against U.S. Patent 8,275,863, owned and asserted by MyMail, Ltd., an NPE.  The '863 Patent, directed to methods of modifying a toolbar to facilitate internet traffic, is presently at issue in four pending district court cases against Yahoo, IAC Search & Media, Oovoo, and Comcast.
