On April 18, Unified Patents (Unified) filed an inter-partes review (IPR) against patent owner iMTX Strategic, LLC (iMTX) in order to protect Content Delivery technologies from invalid NPE assertions. iMTX claims its patent covers an entertainment device receiving internet media over the internet. iMTX has filed 9 cases against content delivery companies in 2015. Unified filed its own IPR challenging claims 1-23 of U.S. Pat. No 7,269,854. A copy of the filing can be found below.
