On May 14, 2015 Unified Patents (Unified) filed an inter-partes review (IPR) against patent owner Rothschild Broadcast Distribution Systems, LLC (Rothschild) in order to protect Content Delivery technologies from invalid NPE assertions. Rothschild claims its patent covers storing media
content and delivering requested media content to a consumer device. Rothschild has filed 10 cases against content delivery companies in March 2015. Unified independently filed an IPR challenging claims 1-13 of U.S. Pat. No 8,856,221. A copy of the filing can be found below:
