On December 23, 2024, Unified Patents filed an ex parte reexamination proceeding against U.S. Patent 10,721,542, owned and asserted by Err Content IP LLC, an NPE and entity of Pueblo Nuevo/DynaIP. The '542 patent generally relates to providing main content and extra content to a user through a reference item. It has been asserted against Panasonic, Hisense, Spotify, Roku, Comcast, LG Electronics, and Amazon

Third DynaIP entity, Cloud Systems, IoT patent challenge instituted

On September 20, 2024, five weeks after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims of U.S. Patent 7,975,051, owned and asserted by Cloud Systems HoldCo IP, LLC, an NPE and DynaIP entity.  The '051 patent relates to a system for controlling and configuring devices through a server. It had been asserted against Carrier, Google, Onity, Samsung, Vivint, and ADT, with current pending cases against Comcast, Kramer, Monitronics, and Ring.

$1,000 awarded for DynaIP entity Cloud Systems Holdco IP data management patent prior art

Unified is pleased to announce PATROLL crowdsourcing contest winner, Ekta Aswal, who was awarded $1,000 for her prior art submission on U.S. Patent 7,975,051, owned by Cloud Systems HoldCo IP, LLC, an entity of Dynamic IP Deals. The ‘051 patent relates to a system and method for controlling, managing and routing data among multiple devices that are sources or consumers of streaming data and control devices present in a given environment in a hardware independent manner. It has been asserted against ADT, Samsung, Vivint, Monitronics, Google, and Ring.

DynaIP entity, Autonomous IP, self-driving patent challenge instituted

On July 25, 2024, six weeks after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims of U.S. Patent 10,127,818, owned and asserted Autonomous IP, LLC, an NPE and DynaIP entity. The '818 patent is directed to autonomous vehicle navigation including detecting and avoiding emergency vehicles. It has been asserted against Tesla and Lyft.
