Hilco Global entity Bell Semiconductor integrated circuit patent reexam granted

On February 17, 2023, less than two months after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the USPTO granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims of U.S. Patent 7,007,259, owned and asserted by Bell Semiconductor LLC, an NPE and entity of Hilco Global. The ‘259 patent relates to a method of prioritizing dummy fill in a semiconductor chip. The patent has been asserted in over 25 litigations against semiconductor companies like NXP, AMD, Micron, Qualcomm, Infineon, Western Digital, Lattice Semiconductor, and others.

Fare Technologies taximeters patent prior art found

Unified is pleased to announce prior art has been found on U.S. Patent RE46727, owned by Fare Technologies, LLC, an NPE. The '727 patent generally relates to a taxi trip meter system that includes a taximeter and a location sensor connected to a computer loaded with street information and driver evaluation software. It has been asserted against Lyft and Uber.

Tanit Ventures entity L2 Mobile Tech wireless patent reexam granted

On February 17, 2023, less than two months after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the USPTO granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims (claims 1-10) of U.S. Patent 8,321,740, owned and asserted by L2 Mobile Technologies LLC, an NPE and entity of Tanit Ventures Inc. The ’740 patent is generally directed to Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling in user equipment of a wireless communication system. This reexamination was filed as part of Unified’s 3GPP SEP zone.
