Unified Files to Invalidate MLC Intellectual Property's Patent

On December 30th, Unified Patents (Unified) filed an inter-partes review (IPR) against patent owner MLC Intellectual Property, LLC (MLC) in order to protect Cloud Storage technologies from invalid NPE assertions.  MLC claims its patent covers non-volatile memory devices which is used in Cloud Storage hardware.  Recently, MLC sued Micron Technology (Micron) in August, 2014. On December 24th, Micron filed an IPR against MLC's patent, U.S. Pat. No 5,764,571 ('571 patent).  Unified filed its own IPR challenging claims 1, 9, 10, 12, 30, 32, 42, and 45 of the '571 patent.
