EP’097 is related to patents that have been declared essential to HEVCA and to SISVEL’s AV1 pool. InterDigital VC Holdings has designated its parent, EP 1627359, as essential to the AV1 standard. The EP’097 patent relates to a method for simulating the film grain that would result from the physical process of exposure and development of film in digital video.
