Unified is pleased to announce PATROLL crowdsourcing contest winner, Nitish Jaswal, who was awarded $2,000 for his prior art submission on U.S. Patent 6,574,239, owned by Communication Interface Technologies LLC, an entity of Equitable IP Corporation. The ‘239 patent relates to client-server computing architectures and communication techniques. More particularly, the invention relates to a system whereby a mobile worker and a central server may maintain a virtually continuous connection without the need to maintain a physical connection continuously. The patent has been asserted over 70 times but most recently against CVS, Staples, Bridgestone, Petco, Kohler, Louis Vuitton, and others.
We would also like to thank the dozens of other high-quality submissions that were made on this patent. The ongoing contests are open to anyone, and include tens of thousands of dollars in rewards available for helping the industry to challenge NPE patents of questionable validity by finding and submitting prior art in the contests.
