On July 22, 2015 Unified Patents ("Unified") filed an Inter Partes Review (IPR) against patent owner Novocrypt LLC ("Novocrypt") in order to protect Cloud Storage technologies from invalid NPE assertions. Novocrypt claims its patent covers portable storage devices with network function. Novocrypt has filed 8 cases against Cloud Storage companies in February 2015. Unified independently filed its I PR challenging claims 1-13 of U.S. Pat. No 7,743,213.
